MARSHALL, Texas – In the first game of a weekend series, the East Texas Baptist University baseball team could not overcome an early deficit as they fell to Louisiana College 14-2. LC improves to 14-5 overall and 5-2 in American Southwest Conference play. ETBU falls to 10-9 and 4-3 in conference action.

LC jumped out to a 6-0 lead thanks to six straight hits, including a grand slam in the top of the first inning. After three quiet innings for both teams, LC added three runs in the top of the fifth inning. ETBU was able to get on the board in the bottom half of the inning on a Zach Compton double off the left field wall.
