MARSHALL, Texas – Traveling to Italy representing East Texas Baptist University softball, Rocki Tello was a member of the American International Sports Team (AIST). Tello played four Italy teams with AIST representing the United States.
“It was an honor to represent the USA and ETBU softball along with a group of girls from NCAA Division I, II, & III all over the United States. After two days of arriving in Italy, we played our first game together without having a team practice. It was a fun and unforgettable experience and I hope I am given the chance to go back next summer,” said Tello.
Tello played in four games pitching a total of 12 innings and recording 18 strikeouts. AIST played Pro Roma first in Rome and then Sestese Softball team in Florence. They followed that with a game in Legnano against Bollate Softball team their final game came against BSC Legnano. AIST won all four games.
Tello is the second player to participate in AIST as Laci Liles was a member in 2014. Tello will be a senior on the ETBU softball in 2017-18 and is a two-time All-ASC pitcher.
