BELTON, Texas – In the American Southwest Conference Tournament Semifinals, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team fell to the University of Texas at Dallas in three sets (23-25, 13-25, and 18-25). Texas Dallas advanced to the ASC Championship match versus Mary Hardin-Baylor. ETBU closes out their season at 13-14 overall, after going 3-2 in the ASC Tournament.

This was Texas Dallas’ fourth victory over ETBU this season. UTD was led by Michelle Toro with 18 kills and Dylan Brinkman had 12 kills. Emma Wallbrown and Holyn Handley finished with nine kills. Both Caroline Shecterle and Fayna Zeng had 23 assists for the Comets. Briana Tully had 21 digs, Abbie Barth had 19 digs, and Brinkman had 18 digs. UTD hit .252 as a team and had 14 blocks as a team.

Mallory Sanders had eight kills, Britni Mosher had seven kills, and Allison Sevening had six kills. Kayla Green had 14 assists and Elyse Shaw had 11 assists. Lauren Jarrell and Sanders led ETBU with 14 digs, Green had 13 digs, and Morgan Rupp and Shaw each had 12 digs. ETBU hit .165 as a team and had nine blocks as a team.

Sanders led ETBU this season with 373 kills, her fourth season in a row to have over 300 kills. Mosher had 191 kills and led ETBU hitting .260 on the season, and lead the team with 83 blocks. Sevening and Abby Weaver finished with 138 kills and 136 kills respectively. Madison Riley finished with 121 kills. Green had 539 assists this season and Shaw had 403 assists. Rupp had 401 digs, Sanders had 322 digs, Green had 259, Shaw had 240, and Jarrell had 230 for the Tigers.

This was the final game for the three seniors on the ETBU roster: Kayla Green, Mallory Sanders, and Morgan Rupp. Green finished with 703 assists in her career which is 9th best in ETBU history. Morgan Rupp had 988 career digs which is also 9th in ETBU history and 86 career aces which is tied for 11th in ETBU history. Sanders finished with 1,448 career kills which is 4th in ETBU history, 144 career service aces which is 3rd in ETBU history, 1,222 career digs which is 6th best in ETBU history, and 198 career blocks which is 10th in ETBU history.
