MARSHALL, Texas – Receiving a prestigious academic award, East Texas Baptist University’s Mallory Sanders has been voted a CoSIDA Academic All-American. She is the second player in the ETBU volleyball program to receive this award as she was voted onto the third team. Brook McGehee was an Academic All-American in 2008.

Sanders joins an elite group of players in NCAA Division III to be voted a CoSIDA Academic All-American as she is one of 18 student-athletes to be an Academic All-American. She made the national list after being voted onto the CoSIDA Academic All-District first-team. She has a 3.82 grade point average and will graduate on Saturday with a degree in Kinesiology. The three-time ASC All-Academic selection had a stellar career finishing in the top 10 in four different categories at ETBU. In four years of play, she was a four-time All-ASC award winner and the 2015 ASC East co-MVP.

ETBU won 83 matches in four years with Sanders and at one point had one of the longest home winningest in NCAA Division III at 18-matches. ETBU also won a program best 32 matches in 2013 and had a program best 14-match winning streak in 2014.
