MARSHALL, Texas – For the East Texas Baptist University women’s basketball team, a new era begins as Rusty Rainbolt will enter his first season as new head coach of the Lady Tigers. ETBU will be having 12 home games this season inside of Ornelas Gymnasium.
ETBU will start the season on the road against Centenary College on November 15 nearly a week before their first home game against Austin College on November 21. The next three games will be home games against ASC opponents McMurry (Nov. 25), Concordia (Nov, 30), and Mary Hardin-Baylor (Dec. 2).

Following a road trip to Alpine against Sul Ross State on Dec. 11, ETBU will play their last two home games against Schreiner (Dec. 16) and Whitworth (Dec. 17). ETBU will then compete in the Schreiner University Tournament on December 29 to close out the 2017 year.
2018 will start on the road for the Tigers as six of their next seven games will be on the road. With the exception of a January 11th game against UT Dallas, they will take on Hardin-Simmons (Jan. 4), McMurry (Jan. 6), Howard Payne (Jan. 11), LeTourneau (Jan, 15), Louisiana College (Jan. 18), and Belhaven (Jan. 20).
Five of their last eight games will be in Ornelas as the Tigers will begin a home and away series against Texas-Tyler (Jan. 25) and Ozarks (Jan. 27). After flip-flopping to play the same two teams on the road, ETBU will have their final home games of the season against Belhaven (Feb. 8), Louisiana College (Feb. 10), and LeTourneau (Feb. 12). They will finish their last game of the season on the road at Texas-Dallas on February 17.
