MARSHALL, Texas – Sportsmanship has always been a part of the East Texas Baptist University cross country teams and for the fourth year in a row the women’s team was rewarded for it again. The women’s cross country team was voted the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Team Sportsmanship Award winner.

ETBU has earned this award the past four years in women’s cross country and the men’s team won the award in 2014 and 2015. Individually, ETBU has also won the men’s and women’s award several times. This year, Shelby Taylor-Spencer won the award for the women which was also the fourth year in a row for ETBU to win. Madison Kauffman won it in 2013, Megan Merrill in 2014 and 2015, and then Taylor-Spencer this year. On the men’s side, Landon Price won the award in 2015.

The award is voted upon by the American Southwest Conference SAAC members for their respective sport.
