MARSHALL, Texas – Winning their fifth match in a row, the East Texas Baptist University women’s tennis team shut out Schreiner University, 9-0. ETBU is now 5-1 on the year.
Starting out with a 3-0 lead in doubles, ETBU won all three matches, 8-2, 8-3, and 8-4. Kate Bramlett and Kaleigh Smith took the no.1 doubles, 8-2, and then Tiffany Stankiewicz and Elisa Kendall won the no.2 doubles, 8-3. Jabree McClaine and Ashley Schenck won the no.3 doubles, 8-4.
ETBU the swept through all the singles matches for the 9-0 win. Bramlett won 6-2, 6-3, at no.1 singles followed by Stankiewicz winning no.2 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Kendall then took no.3, 6-1, 6-2, and Smith won the no.4 match, 6-1, 6-0. Mullika Seekhieo won in no. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-2, and Kellie Cawthon finished off the scoring with a 6-1, 6-0, win at no.6 singles.
ETBU will host Concordia-Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
