WATCH | WEDNESDAY NIGHT | 10:30 PM

The ETBU Tiger Softball team arrived in Adelaide on Tuesday evening in preparation for the 23 and Under tournament hosted by Softball Australia, as a part of their TAME trip. Wednesday was the first day of the tournament and the Tigers defeated South Australia (SA) by the score of 8-4.

Senior Ashley Croft picked up the win in the circle for the Tigers, pitching seven innings and only allowing four runs.

SA struck first, scoring one run in the top of the first, but the Tigers responded with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Delanie Loya doubled off the left field fence for the first hit of the day for ETBU and Tauryn Cummings and Emma Overla each walked to load the bases.  Sydney Green followed with a two RBI single and Sarah Bledsoe added a RBI double to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead after the first inning.

SA took the lead in the second inning, scoring three runs and taking a 4-3 lead.

ETBU retook the lead in the bottom of the third after Green walked, Bledsoe singled, and Hannah A. Kelley walked to start the inning.

Braelyn Buchanan added a two RBI single and Tristan Maddox hit a RBI single of her own. Loya followed with her second double of the game, scoring one and later scored on a RBI single by Croft, making the score 8-4.

The Tigers kept SA off the board the rest of the game to secure the game one victory.

Today was the first day we played and we were able to play South Australia. It was a blast to be able to come to a completely different country and have so many differences, only to set them aside and play a game we love to glorify the Lord with was special! After the game, we got to go to a Christian school in a small village outside Adelaide, to hang out and play with the little students and make new friends. It was truly amazing to witness these sweet kids hearts and be able to get to know them and share the love of Jesus with them. They had such big personalities that were so fun to meet and I cannot wait to have more adventures on this trip and plant more seeds.

After the game, the team was able to spend the afternoon hosting a softball clinic at Hills Christian Church and Community School. The players were able to teach softball skills and share their testimonies and faith with over 30 children, before ending the day handing out t-shirts and ETBU trading cards and signing autographs for the campers.

The Tigers play two games on Thursday, with game one at 10:00 AM against Western Australia and game two at 3:00 PM against Queensland. The second game is scheduled to be live streamed at the following link, which will be aired on Wednesday evening at 10:30 PM Texas time.
