ALL-AMERICAN | FB | Clay Earns AFCA All-American Award

MARSHALL, Texas – For the third year in a row, East Texas Baptist University has produced an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American as Grady Clay (Sr.; San Augustine, Texas) is a second team selection at long snapper. He is the second long snapper from ETBU to earn the award behind two-time All-American Jordan Estes. 

 

Clay played in all 10 games this season and was 100 percent on all his snaps. He had 91 snaps with a snap time of 0.71 and no blocked kicks. There were 26 PATs, six field goal attempts, and 59 punts.

He was one of five American Southwest Conference players selected for the AFCA All-American team joining Hardin-Simmons’ Miguel Valdez (1st-OL) and Dameon Gomes (2nd-AP), Howard Payne’s KJ Kelley (1st-DB), and Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Titus Dunk (2nd-DB). It is also the third year in a row that ETBU has put a long snapper on the All-American team.

 

ETBU went 5-5 this season and tied for third place in the ASC with a 3-3 record.
