GIVE DAY | FEATURE | Graycee Mosley (VB)

By FanWord AI Story
Academic scholarships are a blessing, so having donors who make them possible is wonderful. I think offering more academic scholarships, or even just “service” scholarships, would be a great attraction for prospective students to come to ETBU.
GRAYCEE MOSLEY | ALL-AMERICAN

Graycee Mosley is a three-time AVCA and two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American. She has helped ETBU to back-to-back American Southwest Conference Volleyball Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. She has volunteered for the Fall Festival at Marshall ISD, helped with the Back to School Bash at New Beginnings Church, and participated in Mission Marshall’s Grocery Night and Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine. In March 2024, she went on a mission trip to Chile with her team as part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience. She has also earned the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete award in Track & Field winning an ASC Championship in the discus.

Graycee Mosley has been a member of the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team for three seasons. She's also been on the track and field team.

While she's played a significant role in both sports, Mosley is more than just an athlete. She's an ambassador for the university and a strong witness for Christ.

Mosley deeply appreciates ETBU, its mission, and its community.

Because of that, she's excited to participate in another ETBU Give Day on Thursday, April 10.

ETBU Give Day is a 24-hour, university-wide effort to raise funds to enhance the experience for student-athletes just like Mosley.

For Mosley, the donations from ETBU Give Day allow her to have top-notch facilities and a Christ-centered education that has changed her life.

"Being an athlete at the Division III level, academic scholarships are a blessing," Mosley said. "We can't receive scholarships for our sports, so having donors who allow academic scholarships to be possible is wonderful. I think being able to offer more academic scholarships or even just 'service' scholarships would turn more people's heads to come to ETBU."

ETBU is Different

Mosley had multiple opportunities to play volleyball at the collegiate level, but ETBU was different.

For her, the family atmosphere, tight-knit community, and Christ-centered environment made it easy to decide to become a Tiger.

"I chose to come to ETBU because the minute I stepped on campus, it felt like home," Mosley said. "The people immediately felt like family, and I felt so welcomed. The school size was not overwhelming, so I could see myself getting involved on campus throughout my four years."

The family culture was also a huge selling point for Mosley.

"Everyone from professors, coaches, future teammates, and even just random people walking around, I got a smile and wave," Mosley said. "That made me feel welcomed from the very beginning. Another aspect that drew me to ETBU was the Christian community. I wanted to put myself into a community to help grow my relationship with the Lord."

Mosley's Faith Grows

Mosley is thankful to be part of a university encouraging her to grow in her faith.

"God has impacted my life in ways I can't even explain," Mosley said. "My relationship has grown drastically with the Lord since I stepped onto this campus my first year. I want to thank my volleyball coaches, trainers, and teammates for impacting my life. Our coaches push us to grow our relationship with the Lord, which is a blessing that most universities do not get to experience."

Not only has Mosley grown in her faith, but she's also learned to become a servant-leader.

"Being a part of the volleyball team has many opportunities to be a servant leader," Mosley said. "We took a mission trip to Chile, and I feel like I was able to flourish as a servant leader during that trip. That is because I learned to do so throughout my time at ETBU."

I felt a family culture the second I stepped on campus. It was the Christian Community that really drew me to ETBU as I wanted to go to a place that was going to help me grow my relationship with the Lord!

The Impact of a Facility

Mosley is grateful for the opportunity to play in Ornelas Gym, the equipment and gear provided for them, and the team's excellent locker room.

Having state-of-the-art facilities is a huge recruitment tool for ETBU and why Mosley wanted to be a Tiger.

"Having nice facilities makes game days more fun," Mosley said. "It is exciting to have other teams come to our gym, knowing it is a nice place to play. The classrooms are also excellent, and having a comfortable learning place is key to being a successful student."

ETBU is Home

Mosley has been a part of many incredible memories, including two American Southwest Conference championships with the volleyball team and winning a conference championship in the discus her first year during track season.

The moments she will remember after leaving ETBU will be the great relationships she has built, how her faith became stronger, and how her heart developed into a servant leader.

For her, ETBU is the best place she could have ever chosen to attend.

"I would tell anyone that there is no better place than ETBU," Mosley said. "It is a home away from home, with people who truly love and care about you. All of the coaches and professors on campus are amazing, and the presence of the Lord is so evident everywhere."
