TAME | HKY | Sweden - Recap #4

Seniors Fisher Naumann and Trevor Begley provided Friday’s recap of the ETBU Hockey’s TAME trip to Sweden.

This morning, we started our day with a devotional and a meaningful time of fellowship, where we shared our ‘6 Hs’—honey, horrible hygiene habit, hero, heartache, highlight, and hope. This activity broke down barriers and allowed us to connect deeply, learning more about each other’s lives and faith journeys. It was a truly impactful experience that we’ll all carry with us.

Afterward, we divided into groups for outreach and my group set up a table with coffee and cookies in a busy area of downtown Värnamo. Our goal was simple, to build relationships and share the light of Christ with the people of the city. Despite the cold weather and some resistance, we trust that seeds were planted as we demonstrated God’s faithfulness, love, and joy.

Later in the evening, we had the opportunity to participate in a youth outreach event.  We played games, spent time connecting with the local youth, and then gathered for a time of worship. Corder Helmick and Dominic Desjardins shared their powerful testimonies, and it was evident that God is at work in and through our team.

I’m excited to see how God continues to move throughout the rest of this trip. We’re praying that the love and hope we’ve experienced will continue to flow into the hearts of the people of Värnamo,” Naumann said.

Today we woke up and went to the Arken Church, where we ate breakfast, had a recap of Thursday, sang worship, and did our devotional together. We got into small groups and went over our ‘6 Hs,’ which was a great eye opening experience for all of us on the team. After lunch, the team divided up to head out into the community, while I stayed back at the church to work on the message I will share on Saturday. I am super excited to share my testimony and for people of Sweden to learn from what God has done in my life.

To finish up our day, we went to play floorball and hang out with the youth of Värnamo.  It was great meeting them and everyone had a blast. This trip has been a real eye opener for me and my walk in my faith.  God is moving in this hockey team and it’s really exciting to see,” Begley added.
