The ETBU Tiger Baseball team began their final full day in the Dominican Republic with their last game of the week against a local team made up of professional players from Boca Chica.

The Dominican team scored one run in the bottom of the first, but ETBU responded with 10 runs in the top of the second on hits by Hunter Rumachik, Carson Wilson, Nicolas Chavez, Dylan Burnaman, Jacob Evangelista, Connor Massimini, Ben Lea, Brett Wagner and Cameron French, leaving the score 10-2.

ETBU surrendered one run in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fifth, Massimini and Lea singled and Wagner followed with a two RBI double, to make the score 12-2.  The Tigers added two more runs in the top of the ninth, before closing out the 14-2 victory.

Today was our last full day in the DR. We woke up to play our last game against a team of minor league and young prospects. Once the game was over we had the opportunity to donate game worn pants, jerseys, and backpacks to the neighborhood kids. Looking back on this experience it was one of the best because there is a lot of times we get in a routine in America that drains us. Arriving here gave us a whole different perspective because looking at the people in the DR they are just happy with their lives even though they have a lot less than us. It showed us that we don't need the nicest things or the newest things, but instead if we have the group of guys on this team the bond is unbreakable.

We have seen God move within this team, where we do not take things for granted because this trip taught each one of us that just cause you have a lot does not make you happy. I cannot thank this trip enough for providing me and this team with an experience of a lifetime along with growing closer to Christ.”
