TAME | WBB | Ireland Recap #1

The East Texas Baptist University Women’s Basketball team departed Texas on Sunday, May 24, for a ten day trip to Northern Ireland. This is the 16th trip for the ETBU Athletic Department as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME).

The Tigers are partnering with the International Sports Federation (ISF) and will be serving alongside the Salt Factory Sports group in Belfast, Ireland.

Through our day of travel, we got to meet lots of new people in the airports as well as friendly flight attendants with the coolest accents. Once we landed in Belfast, we were greeted by our lovely ISF and Salt Factory Sports families. We gathered our things and packed the vans to head out to Belfast Bible College, where we will be staying the remainder of the trip

Once we were settled we then went for a walk to a near park. In the park were many different types of flowers and gardens as well as some amazing views. While looking through the gardens we stumbled upon an opening to a valley in which the two of us and some teammates stood in awe of God’s creations. We captured this moment by taking many pictures, having many laughs, making TikToks, and running through the field.

As the day came to an end, we sat around and visited with the Salt Factory Sports team on how we can spread the word of God, how to be Christ like examples, and how to exemplify what it means to be a Christian in our work this week. We are so excited to see what the rest of this trip brings and can’t wait to spread the love of Christ!
