Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas – A second half attack by the University of Texas Dallas (10-5/4-2) became the difference in the game as they netted two goals by East Texas Baptist University (4-8/3-3) in American Southwest Conference women' soccer play. The match was tied at zero at the half before Texas Dallas scored two consecutive goals in a five-minute time span in the second half.
Taking 10 shots overall in the match, five in each half, Amber Campbell had three shots with two on goal. Erin Miller added two shots with one on goal. Five other players each took a shot in the game. Christina Salas finished with 11 saves in the match and let two goals by. Texas Dallas' Monica Dallacasa recorded four saves
ETBU started the match off with two shots right away at the goal in the eighth minute by Campbell. She headed a shot that was saved by Texas Dallas goalie Dallacasa and then 49 seconds later had a shot that went wide left. Overall, ETBU took five shots in the first half as two were on goal. Texas Dallas had nine shots with five on goal.
In the second half there were 21 minutes of no scoring until Texas Dallas found the goal twice in five minutes. They scored in the 68th minute on a penalty kick and then in the 73rd minute. ETBU had a chance in the 84th minute with a shot on goal to add a score but Texas Dallas denied the shot.
ETBU now travels to Brownwood, Texas, to face Howard Payne University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
