Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas – Beginning a two-game road trip over the weekend, East Texas Baptist University (2-10/2-3) faced #10 University of Texas Dallas (12-1-1/5-0) for a second time this year but this time in American Southwest Conference play falling, 7-0. ETBU hosted then #20 Texas Dallas earlier in the fall in a non-conference match.
ETBU was allowed just three shots in the match with two on goal. Antoine Bravo and Hugo Orta had the shots on goal while Gustavo Vasquez took one shot. Three different goalies played for ETBU as Juan Perales started going 59 minutes for the loss with two saves. Ryan Hammond was in 15 minutes and then Ryan Barham played 18 minutes with one save. Texas Dallas goalie Joseph Weber had one save and Tyler Cotter had the other save.
Texas Dallas had a 2-0 lead at the half scoring in the seventh and 16th minutes. ETBU pressured Texas Dallas in the half with Bravo talking a shot on goal in the ninth minute trailing just 1-0. Down 2-0, Vasquez had his shot go high in the 42nd minute.
It was a different story in the second half as Texas Dallas took 13 shots with six on goals scoring five goals. They went in scoring spurts with goals in the 47th and 48th minutes then the 53rd and 54th minutes and in the 62nd minute.
ETBU travels to Brownwood, Texas, to face Howard Payne University at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
