TYLER, Texas - For the fifth time in as many matches, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team won via sweep as it topped Howard Payne University, 3-0. Playing on Saturday in its third and final match as part of the American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournament hosted by University of Texas-Tyler, ETBU (20-3, 8-2 ASC) bested Howard Payne (1-17, 1-9 ASC) by set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-18.

For the match, ETBU had a team attacking percentage of .313. In comparison, Howard Payne hit .067 as a team.

Mallory Sanders totaled 11 kills with zero attack errors to go along with five digs, two total blocks and a pair of service aces. Britni Mosher had eight kills, two total blocks and two service aces. Alexis Zolan finished with 13 assists, while Reighanna Guzman contributed 10. Adaeze Elonu chipped in seven kills and four total blocks, and Hannah Jones totaled a match-leading 18 digs.

For Howard Payne, Micah Cisneroz and Shelbie Harry contributed seven kills apiece. Katie Schulte (11) and Cheyanne Lovelady (10) both contribued double-digit assists.

ETBU competes next at University of Texas Dallas in a 7 p.m. match on Tuesday.
