MARSHALL, Texas – Fighting to the end of the match but not finding the back of the net the East Texas Baptist men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Belhaven University Friday afternoon at Cornish Field. It was the sixth one-loss contest for ETBU (1-9) this year.

The first half was an evenly matched half as Belhaven outshot ETBU 7-6. Juan Perales was the only reason Belhaven was unable to score grabbing three saves in the half. Just three minutes into the second half, Belhaven headed in the only goal of the match off of a corner kick to go up 1-0. ETBU tried valiantly to get the tying goal, but they could not get one past the net as they were outshot 9-5 in the second half.

Overall, Belhaven took 16 shots to ETBU's 11. Perales had six saves in the match while Ryan Hammond Hammond played the last 20 minutes recording one save. Antoine Bravo, Brett Forbus, and Gunner Gibson each led the team with two shots.

ETBU will remain at Cornish Field tomorrow as they take on Louisiana College. Kickoff will begin at 3:00 p.m.
