Box Score BELTON, Texas – On the heels splitting a pair of matches on Friday, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team finished the American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournament by topping Hardin-Simmons University, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon inside of the Mayborn Campus Center. Set scores for ETBU were 25-22, 25-17 and 25-14.
ETBU improves to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in ASC match play. Hardin-Simmons drops to 7-7 and 3-2 in ASC competition. For the match, ETBU finished with a team attacking percentage of .350, while Hardin-Simmons hit .019.
Mallory Sanders totaled 10 kills, seven digs, four blocks and a pair of service aces for ETBU. Reighanna Guzman contributed a dozen assists, nine digs and four service aces, while Alexis Zolan chipped in seven assists and eight digs. Adaeze Elonu totaled five kills and seven blocks.
For Hardin-Simmons, Morgan Prince had eight kills, five assists, five digs, two blocks and four service aces. Three players tallied double-digit digs for Hardin-Simmons, paced by Lauren Wish who had 13.
ETBU completes this current stretch of five-straight ASC matches on Oct. 3 when it plays at LeTourneau University with first serve slated for 1 p.m.
