Box Score KERRVILLE, Texas – Playing their third road game in five days, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team was unable to get any offense going as they dropped a 3-0 decision to Schreiner University. ETBU took eight shots with six on goal.
In the first half, both teams shot the ball three times as Schreiner's Kelcie Nesbitt struck the first goal in the 34th minute. In the second half, Schreiner's momentum carried over as they outshot ETBU 10-5. Schreiner's Alexis Overdiek made it 2-0 with a goal in the 81st minute. Just seven minutes later, Ashley Foster headed in the third goal in the 88th minute that sealed the win for the Mountaineers.
Erin Miller and Kristyn Alfaro led the team with two shots each that both went on goal. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Hudspeth finished the game making four saves while allowing three goals past her. ETBU had more corner kicks with five compared to Schreiner's four.
ETBU will travel to Texarkana to play Texas A&M-Texarkana this Thursday.
