From the start, ETBU jumped out of the gate with a 12-4 run by hitting all of their points on three's by Leonard, Chisholm, and Davis. Twice, ETBU would reach their largest lead of the quarter at nine on a layup by Davis and a jumper by Leonard. UTD would win the rest of the quarter by finishing with a 7-6 run as ETBU had a 20-12 lead after one quarter.

However, UTD responded with a quick 6-0 run before Alexander would make a buzzer beater to keep it tied after three at 38.
The fourth quarter started with a 12-6 ETBU run to make it 50-44. Alexander and Leonard were the catalysts in the stretch as they combined for 10 of the 12 points. On a few occasions, UTD would cut into ETBU's lead before critical baskets by Alexander, Lee, and free throws by Davis would give the Tigers a four point margin or more. With ten seconds to play, UTD cut the lead to 58-56. After a turnover by ETBU, UTD's chances of taking the lead were denied by a missed three-pointer. Davis would get the rebound and was fouled with one second left where she would make the free throw that would ultimately seal the game for ETBU.
