Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – In their first match of the Central Texas road trip, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team fell to Concordia University 1-0 on Friday night. ETBU falls to 5-5-4 overall and to 3-4-2 in ASC play. Concordia improves to 7-4-1 overall and to 5-3 in ASC play.
The first half remained scoreless with Concordia outshooting ETBU 5-1, with Karrigan Falber making two saves for ETBU. The match was tied 0-0 until Victoria Herrera converted a penalty kick for the Tornados in the 67th minute to notch the game-winning goal. Concordia outshot ETBU 12-4 in the contest with seven shots on goal compared to one for ETBU.
Kaycee Moore had five shots to lead Concordia, Kayla Carlove added two shots alongside Herrera. Shelby Franco earned the win in the net after saving the one shot on goal from ETBU to earn the shutout.
Erin Miller had two of the four shots for ETBU with one shot on goal. Chase Swann and Amber Campbell also had a shot in the contest. Falber was given the loss after allowing one goal on seven shots faced. Falber made six saves in the loss.
ETBU returns to action tomorrow night versus Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas at 5:00 p.m. UMHB is currently second in the ASC standings after beating LeTourneau University 3-1 tonight.
