Box Score MARSHALL, Texas – After allowing a goal in the middle of the first half, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team was not able to bounce back in a 1-0 loss at Belhaven University. The loss drops ETBU to 5-3-3, and remain 3-1-1 in American Southwest Conference play as Belhaven does not count as an ASC opponent this season. Belhaven improves to 4-7 overall on the season.
Belhaven scored on a Jessica Mahoney goal in the 30th minute as the only score of the contest. Belhaven outshot ETBU 10-7, but ETBU created more shots on goal with four, but could not capitalize.
Kendall Vogt led ETBU with two shots on the day and one shot on goal. Amber Campbell, Emilee Laxson, and Kalynn Hudman each notched a shot on goal as well.
Belhaven was led by Mahoney who shot five times on the night for the Blazers. Erica Rempel tallied two shots and the second shot on goal for Belhaven.
Alexis McDonald was awarded the victory in net for Belhaven, while Lexy Montgomery was given the loss in the net for ETBU.
ETBU goes 1-1 in their two state road trip between Louisiana and Mississippi. ETBU will return back to Texas with two home matches this following weekend at Cornish Field. ETBU will face off against Howard Payne University and University of Texas at Dallas.
