MARSHALL, Texas - As their trip to California comes to an end, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team dropped the final two games of the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational on Saturday. ETBU dropped game one of the double header to #1 nationally ranked California Lutheran University 25-13, 25-16, 25-18. ETBU fell in the second game of the double header to Wheaton College 25-17, 25-18, and 25-19 to drop their season overall record to 1-5.

Abby Weaver led ETBU in kills in game one with seven, followed by Allison Sevening with five. Elyse Shaw had 13 assists, and Kayla Green chipped in eight assists of her own for ETBU. ETBU had 31 kills in the match as well as 39 digs as a team. Against Wheaton, Morgan Rupp led ETBU with 17 digs, Lauren Jarrel added 16, and Mallory Sanders had 13 for the match. ETBU had 7 blocks as a team as well.

ETBU will return to action on Tuesday September 13^th against University of Texas at Tyler for their home opener, as well as their American Southwest Conference opener. The match will be in Ornelas Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. in Marshall, Texas.
