Box Score MARSHALL, Texas – With three goals in the second half that proved to be the difference, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team roared their way past Austin College with a 4-0 win. ETBU left the field with a 7-4-1 record overall.
From the opening whistle, the Tigers were all about business as they were able to capitalize nearly six minutes in on a goal from
Raegan Kappler. ETBU's defense would then hold AC without a shot until the 23
rd minute. The Tigers finished with a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Five minutes into the second half,
Hannah Murin scored her fourth goal of the season on the rebound with an open net to make it 2-0.
Ashleigh Rondon would follow that with her sixth goal of the season from an assist off the head of
Megan Friend and the corner kick by Kappler. AC could never get anything on goal for the rest of the game while freshmen
Jenna Kucera and
Maya Padilla teamed up to give Padilla her first goal of the season and the fourth one for ETBU.
ETBU outshot AC 17-2 during the game, including 11 on net. Rondon led ETBU with five shots for ETBU including two on goal while goalkeeper
Karrigan Falber had two saves. Erin Eckart and Kristi Stevens each had a shot while Maya Erwin made seven saves.
ETBU resumes ASC play when they host LeTourneau this Saturday at 5:00 PM.
