RICHARDSON, Texas – Competing against another American Southwest Conference West Division member, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team (0-3) fell to the University of Texas at Dallas, 9-0. ETBU had four matches that were close to points with one going into extra sets.
In doubles, ETBU lost in both no. 1 and no. 2 competition, 9-7. Connor Mason and Andrew Deutsch fell to Ryan Morton and Eric Chen in no. 1 and then Cody Highsmith and John Herr lost the no. 2 match. Rollin Houk and Ty Tarver fell in no. 3 match, 8-0.
Highsmith then fell in extra sets at no. 2 singles to Hrudhay Ravula, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). Joseph Salinas dropped the no. 5 singles match, 7-5, 6-4, to Chen.
ETBU will be home for their first match of the season on Friday, February 17, vs. Millsaps College at 2:00 p.m.
