KERRVILLE, Texas – Beginning their 2017 season, the East Texas Baptist University women's team didn't get the result they wanted in Central Texas as they fell, 3-0, to Schreiner University. ETBU will now have Saturday off and play Texas Lutheran on Sunday.
 
For ten minutes, neither team was able to score until Schreiner scored two goals with a span of three minutes going up, 2-0. The goals came from Cailee Morgan (11:58) and Alex Gill (13:50). ETBU did get three shots in as Heather Brady, Hannah Murin, and Ashleigh Rondon each fired a shot. But they were all saved by goalkeeper Jordin Toso.
 
The second half saw Schreiner outshoot ETBU, 5-0, while Claire Montondon picked up four saves for ETBU. It wasn't until 79^th minute that Morgan collected her second goal of the game sealing the 3-0 win.
 
Schreiner won many categories including shots (9-3) and corner kicks (3-2). ETBU did manage to pick up four saves to Schreiner's three.
 
ETBU will travel to Seguin to take on Texas Lutheran this Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
