ABILENE, Texas – Knowing they would be facing a tough test against #5 Hardin-Simmons University, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team saw their five-match undefeated streak come to an end with a 6-1 loss at the hands of the Cowgirls. ETBU is now 5-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the ASC.

Eight minutes into the contest, HSU struck first with a goal. ETBU's lone goal came six minutes later when Ashleigh Rondon equalized for the Tigers. But from that point on, the Cowgirls showed their experience as they tallied three more goals in the first half and two more in the second half.

All game long, HSU outshot the Tigers 18-3 and 14-3 on net. For ETBU, Hannah Murrin, Rondon, and Chase Swann had the only shots for ETBU. Claire Montondon made seven saves overall.

 ETBU will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, this Tuesday for a 5:00 PM match at Millsaps College.
