JACKSON, MS- Entering Tuesday's match with the Millsaps Majors, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team was determined to steal a road win. Rattling off three goals in the game, the men's squad held on to defeat the Majors 3-2 on Tuesday night. The Tigers improve to 3-5-1 on the season following the big road win.

Silas Sangano had the first answer nine minutes into the game for the Tigers, sinking his second goal of the season to take the first lead at 1-0.

The Tigers would pile on another goal, as Thomas Sanford rebounded his own miss at the net to give his team the advantage at 2-0 at the 24:09 mark of the first half.

The men's team went into the locker room with the 2-0 lead, connecting on two of the five shots taken in the first half. The Majors doubled up in shot attempts at 10 but were unable to get on the board in the first period. 

Needing a goal for the Majors, Gabriel Ryce scored his third goal of the season to bring the score to 2-1 within the first two minutes of the second half.

Silas Sangano responded once again with the second goal for the Tigers to extend the lead and bring the score to 3-1 with 73:33 mark of the contest.

Millsaps responded with a late goal by Dimitri Staursky with 2:35 remaining to cut the lead to 3-2.

In spite of the late efforts by the home team, ETBU was able to hold on to capture the 3-2 win on the road on Tuesday night. 

Sangano manned the offensive effort with two goals in the match. Sanford chipped in a goal for the Tigers in the tight win.

The men's team will return to Cornish Field on Thursday night for a matchup against Howard Payne. The game is set to kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
