After falling to Schreiner University 3-0 in the season opener last Friday, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team picked up a win against Texas Lutheran University on Sunday at 2-1.
The team now returns to Cornish Field for a home opener against Hendrix College in hopes to get above the .500 mark early in the season.
In ETBU'S last match, the team found early success on the offensive end, getting multiple opportunities at the goal.
Chase Swann and
Ashleigh Rondon highlighted the team's victory on Sunday. Swann and Rondon tallied a combined three shots on goal and one field goal each in the win.
Entering Tuesday's contest, the Tigers will look to avenge a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors last season. Last year's contest saw Hendrix College impose their will late in the first half. ETBU took a slight advantage in shots on goal with nine compared to eight by the Warriors.
Hendrix comes into Tuesday's matchup with a 0-2 record after dropping two matches against Hardin-Simmons and UT Tyler.
