MARSHALL, Texas – Keying their team to two victories this past weekend, two members of the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team were named American Southwest Conference Players of the Week. Bryant Botello and Daniel Rutter earned the award for their play against Belhaven University and Louisiana College.

Botello, who was named ASC Tri-Defensive Player of the Week, earned his third weekly honor of his career and his second this season after posting two shutout victories against BU and LC on the road. During those two wins, Botello posted six saves including two at BU and four at LC.

Rutter earns his first ASC Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring two goals. He added an insurance goal in the 87^th minute in ETBU's 2-0 win over the Blazers. Then against LC, he converted a penalty kick in the 67^th minute for ETBU's only goal in a 1-0 victory.

ETBU is currently fifth in the ASC with a 7-5-2 record overall and 4-3-2 in the conference. Their next game will be at home on Thursday night at 7:30 PM against the University of Texas Dallas.
