COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Pulling away with a twenty-point fourth quarter, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team completed their Colorado trip undefeated at 2-0 as they defeated Colorado College 72-48. ETBU is currently 6-0 for the second straight season as they end their preseason schedule with conference play on the horizon.

Amanda Wilson led the Tigers with 17 points making eight-of-12 from the field.
Kendrick Clark put up 13 points while
Taylor Singleton added 11 points in addition to being the leading rebounder with seven and dishing out a team-high five assists. CC was led by Casey Torbet's 15 points while Nia Duplain collected a game-high eight rebounds.
ETBU struggled in the first half with shots as they made 29.27% from the field. But thanks to 59% made field goals in the second half, ETBU finished with 41.2% throughout the game. The paint advantage went to ETBU (42-12) as did the points off turnovers (25-8). Once again, ETBU got contributions from the bench as they scored 20 points while CC was held to five.
CC would get their first lead of the game (9:36) with a three-pointer. A Wilson jumper (9:17) was followed by three's from Singleton (8:18) and Clark (7:23) to give ETBU an 8-5 lead. ETBU would stretch the lead to as much as 12-7 (5:57) before CC would tie the score at 13-13 (2:30). Clark would retain the lead for ETBU (2:06) at 15-13. But CC responded with three points to lead 16-15 after one.
The second quarter started with a flourish of seven straight ETBU points as Clark's free throws (8:27) was followed by a three-point play from Valerie Matlock (7:40) and a jumper from Singleton (7:17) to lead 22-16. ETBU would then reach their first ten-point lead after
Mallory Stephens completed the 6-2 run to lead 28-18 (5:10). CC responded with eight unanswered (5:10-3:16) to trail by two before Wilson stopped the run on a layup (2:22). It was a one-point lead for ETBU at 31-30 (0:55) before Clark finished the quarter by putting the score at 33-30 at halftime.
ETBU would push their lead to 43-35 with a 10-5 run (10:00-5:16) as Wilson (8:47),
Erin Meeks (7:02) and Stephens (6:35) begun the scoring before
Kayla Bise connected with a three to force the score at 43-35 in ETBU's favor (5:16). Once again, CC would cut the deficit to 43-41 (3:30) only for Wilson to end the run with two (3:17) of what would be a stretch of six points (1:34, 0:01). A free throw by Matlock (1:09) and a jumper by
Sydney Saxton (0:47) would extend ETBU's lead as Wilson's layup at the buzzer ended the third quarter up 52-43.
Anna Moss got her first points in the fourth quarter (9:52) to make the lead at 54-43. Following a three by CC (9:39), ETBU would take control as they would rollover CC with an 18-2 run. Starting with six straight points from Matlock (9:28), Singleton (7:21), and Wilson (6:27), ETBU would concede two-pointer (6:07) before finishing with twelve straight points (5:07-1:05) beginning with Saxton's three-point play (5:07) and ending with Bise's second three-pointer (1:05).
