MARSHALL, Texas- Looking to stay unbeaten in conference play, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team will take on the University of Texas Tyler on Saturday, April 7. ETBU enters the American Southwest Conference East Division match with an overall record of 3-8 and a perfect 2-0 record in ASC games so far this season.

ETBU found themselves in a tight battle last week, needing a tie-breaking set to knock off Belhaven University 5-4 on March 30. The Tigers would take two of the three doubles matches, with Joseph Salinas and Ty Tarver coming away with the 8-2 win at the number two spot. Andrew Deutsch and Tyler Howard managed an 8-1 victory at the number three doubles matchup.  

In singles play, Salinas, who commanded the number two matchup, notched the 6-0, 6-2 win. Deutsch was able to come away with a pair of 6-1 wins at the number four spot. John Herr overcame a one set deficit to claw out a 6-4 win at the number three singles spot.

UT Tyler enters the weekend match with an overall record of 13-3 and a 2-0 record in ASC play. The Patriots are coming off of a 5-4 win over Colby College on Saturday, March 31.

ETBU will host UT Tyler on Saturday, April 7 from Veterans Memorial Tennis Complex.
