"On our first full day of ministry we visited West Haven Children's Home, a privately funded home for children with disabilities who are wards of the state. This team of amazing young women stepped right in and loved on these children, playing, hugging, feeding, and even dancing with them. The joy on the children's faces was only out shone by the joy of the faces of the team. What an incredible blessing to meet the children here and even find among them those who are not only Christians but children who insist on sharing that fact with everyone they come in contact with, even when they can't talk. Jesus is working at this wonderful place."

"Today we visited West Haven, which is a home for kids with disabilities. I walked in thinking about how much we were going to impact these kids' lives and love on them, but little did I know that it would impact me much more. I spent a lot of time with the kids that were not able to communicate verbally, so they would hold my hand and hug me a lot. I started to think about how God communicates with us, how He doesn't verbally speak to us, except through his word. And if we are not focusing on Him then we might miss it."

"Just like if I wasn't paying attention to the kids when they were smiling at me and hugging me, I would miss what they were trying to communicate with me. If we do not have our eyes focused on Jesus then we are going to miss what he has in store for us. Proverbs 16:9 says, 'For you can make plans but the Lord determines your steps.' And if we are not keeping a narrow path to Him then our plan is not going to aligned with His steps."
