MARSHALL, Texas – For the first time this season, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team was the recipient of the American Southwest Conference Player of the Week award. Senior Bryant Botello received the award for his play in two matches.

Botello (Spring, Texas) picks up his second career ASC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his play in the previous week. In two games, Botello conceded zero goals in 135 minutes against Birmingham-Southern and Berry College. He kept the game scoreless in the first half against BSU while posting a 1-0 shutout win over Berry College.

ETBU is currently 2-1 and will play UMHB this Thursday at 3:00 pm in Belton, Texas, and Concordia-Texas this Saturday at 3:30 PM in Austin.
