ABILENE, Texas – Competing in their final fall tennis tournament, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team competed well in the ITA Southwest Regional Tournament. Juan Blanco had the best tournament playing for the Flight E singles championship.
 
Blanco defeated three American Southwest Conference opponents to get to the championship match. He started with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Rudy Perez (Howard Payne) and then won 6-2, 6-5, over John Swords of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Against Dale Wallace from LeTourneau, he advanced by default before falling to Ethan Espiritu from Concordia-Texas, 6-0, 6-4.
