Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

RECAP | @ETBU_Soccer Falls Short of Win in Arkansas

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - In spite of the early momentum, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team was unable to keep the University of the Ozarks off the board, resulting in the 2-1 loss on the road. ETBU now sits at 4-10 overall and 3-5 in the American Southwest Conference.

As a team, ETBU totaled only seven shots and three on goal. Isaiah Simien scored the team's lone goal off of an assist by Dominic Wood. Simien recorded two shots while Max Ponticorvo led the way with three shots in the contest. Travis Floyd and Tristan England each recorded a shot on goal for the Tigers. Defensively, Justin Groves had one save on the day.

Simian opened the match with the first goal, sinking in the shot from 20 yards outside the box to give ETBU the 1-0 edge in the 13th minute. Ozark's Tanner Young responded with a goal squaring the match at 1-1 in the 39th minute. Both team's headed into halftime tied at one.

Just 21 minutes into the second half, Drew Mott would put UO over ETBU, scoring the second goal on a penalty kick, pushing the score to 2-1. Both teams would battle back and forth down the stretch but UO would hold on to win 2-1 in the ASC matchup.

The Tigers will return to Cornish Field for a match with Sul Ross State University on Thursday, Oct. 24th. The match is set for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off.
