MARSHALL, Texas – After a week off, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team will be back in action as they travel to Dallas to take on Howard Payne University and the University of Texas Dallas. They will have one match on each day staring with Howard Payne on Friday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 record on the season as they picked up wins over McMurry University, 8-1, and University of the Southwest, 8-1. ETBU went undefeated in doubles play as John Herr/Adam Morris (#1) and Ty Tarver/Joseph Salinas (#2) won their matches by the score of 8-6 against McMurry. The #3 doubles flight team of Tyler Howard and Andrew Deutsch also picked up an 8-4 victory.

ETBU swept all three doubles matches against Southwest for a 3-0 lead. Herr and Morris (#1) and Tyrese Sheffield and Howard (#3) won their respected matches 8-4 while Salinas and Tarver won the #2 doubles match 8-1 against Tucker Richolson and Nick Salazar.

HPU comes into Fridays contest with an overall record of 0-1 as they fell 9-0 to Texas Lutheran University. UTD has yet to play in a match this season.

Friday's match vs. HPU is set to begin at 9:00 a.m., while Saturday's match against UTD is set to start at 9:00 a.m.
