MARSHALL, Texas – Conceding just one game over their two matches, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team wasted no time defeating both Concordia University and Louisiana College on Saturday. ETBU is 9-4 overall and are currently 1-0 in the ASC East Division.
Match 1 – ETBU 8, CTX 1
ETBU would only lose one doubles match at number one doubles as Olivia Parmelly and Kaleigh Smith battled to a tiebreaker before falling 9-8 (7-0). But the other doubles pairs of Tiffany Stankiewicz/Ashley Schenck (#2 doubles; 8-3) and Tess Willis/Mullika Seekhieo (#3 doubles; 8-4) would have victories in their matches. Willis (#1 singles; 2-6, 6-2, 7-5) and Seekhieo (#5 singles; 2-6, 6-4, 10-4) would each earn a tiebreaker win in their respected spots while Stankiewicz (#2 singles; 6-4, 6-1), Smith (#3 singles; 6-3, 6-1), Parmelly (#4 singles; 6-5, 6-2), and Cassidy Wilcoxson (#6 singles; 6-3, 6-3) managed to win in straight sets.
