The bottom of the third inning produced the game's first run. McM's Nina Hernandez put down a sacrifice bunt that advanced Summer Quiroga and scored Sydney King, giving the Warhawks the 1-0 lead. The Tigers would not have a chance to respond until the top of the fifth, where a fielding error by McM sent
Nikki Gil to third base and scored Anderson and tied the ballgame at 1-1. The Warhawks answered with a run of their own, as Quiroga scored off of a single into center field by Mikayla Krause, increasing the lead to 2-1.Â
Â
The top of the seventh would set the stage for Anderson as ETBU trailed 2-1 in the frame. Anderson connected on a pitch from Schoeneman, carrying it over the wall for a home run that tied the ballgame at 2-2. The Warhawks were unable to answer leading to extra innings in the ASC contest.Â
Â
The game stood at a stalemate after two scoreless innings, until Adams was brought home off of a single by Hunter, taking the lead at 3-2 in the top of the 10th. Cox then would strike out Adrienne Nairn in the bottom of the 10th to seal the thrilling 3-2 victory on the road.Â
