Today's recap is provided by May 2019 ETBU graduate Reid Adams.

"Here on our second day in Paris, we started with breakfast and then officially began our day. Before we loaded the vans to head out, Bryan Doyle, International Sports Federation representative, shared something with us about a prayer he has prayed for about 30 years now. He said that everyday he wants the end of the day to be different than it was when he started. I hope to take that and use it as motivation to use the gifts and talents the Lord has given me to better this world for His good in everything I am doing.

First on the day, John Herr and I went and served at a homeless shelter in the midst of Paris. This was an experience unlike any I had ever been a part of as I could not speak French to these people and they could not understand English. Our worlds collided, but through the love of Christ we were still able to communicate. Seeing the many smiles and gratefulness of these people brought so much joy to my heart. A volunteer at the homeless shelter, who spoke very little English, shared the Gospel with the people and hearing it presented in a different manner, but still having people respond in the same way we as Americans do on a day to day basis, was incredible.

Next, we met up with the rest of the group at the second highest point in Paris, the Sacré Coeur. The Sacré Coeur was built in 1850 and where it is located, a church has been in that exact location for over a thousand years. Sacré Coeur means "sacred heart" and this church was more than beautiful inside and out. It overlooks the city of Paris and the view from there was magnificent.

Lastly for the day, we all met up at the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base and had dinner and recapped the day. In just the two days we have been here, I have overly enjoyed how personal and intimate the YWAM staffers are with us. No matter who we're talking to they are accepting us with open arms and truly making us feel as if we are a part of the family, which is a big thing they emphasize here. Their love for Christ is contagious and I hope I can be as passionate for the Lord as each and every one of them are.

So far this trip has been amazing and I can't wait to see how the Lord is going to not only use us but teach us so many things on this trip. Please, continue to pray for safety and energy to get through each day and that we can be a light to the city of Paris. Your prayers have already been felt and are very much appreciated."
