"Today our team took the plunge into our mission work. Departing from the YWAM base at 8:15 we took
Cassidy Wilcoxson and
Elisa Kendall to serve food at Palio's Kitchen to the homeless. The rest of them team then made our way to the same church we worshiped at on Sunday. There we spent some time in worship with the church leaders and prayed for our time in France as well as the
We then discussed the mission work that we would be embarking on throughout the rest of our time here in Paris. Learning about events that we would take on tomorrow serving the community through building relations with the residents. To spread the Word and hopefully draw people to our events, we set into the city with flyers and posters to distribute.
We split up into groups to distribute the posters to local hotels/apartments and hand out flyers to residents. As we stood in the streets hoping to spread the word of Christ it was hard to gain attention of passing people. Without being able to speak their language we initially felt unable to connect. With our limited French we began to speak what little we understood and pass our flyers to people who took them with smiles. I don't know how many people will come to tomorrow's events, but just pray that Christ will touch their hearts and lead them in his direction and allow us to connect them further to Him.
After hours of mission work, we returned to the church for the day. After the events of yesterday, we all wanted to see the beauty of downtown France again. After riding the metro, a small hail storm, and a great dinner together we ended the day on the second deck of the Eiffel Tower looking over the city. I t was a wonderful place to pray for our mission and to pray over the city looking across the country that we have just begun to experience."
