MARSHALL, Texas – For the second consecutive week, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team will hit the road and travel to central Texas as they face Southwestern University in Georgetown (TX) on Saturday. The Tigers enter the matchup with the Pirates with an overall record of 1-1 on the early season.
ETBU picked up their first victory in thrilling fashion against Schreiner University last Sunday, 2-1. It took a golden goal from
Riley Broughton in overtime to secure the 2-1 win over the Mountaineers.

Entering this weekend's match, Head Coach
Kristin Cox talked about her team having another opportunity to match up with a quality non-conference opponent this weekend.
"Last weekend was a great prepping and learning opportunity for our team to grow even more. Now we have game experience under our belt with knowledge on how to handle setbacks and close games. We are excited to be back on the field against another quality opponent," Cox said.
The matchup against the Pirates is set for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, Sept. 7
