GEORGETOWN, Texas - A second half comeback by Southwestern University ended East Texas Baptist University bid for the win, 2-1. ETBU led, 1-0, after the first half only to see Southwestern score two second half goals. They are now 1-2 on the season.

Ashleigh Rondon led the Tigers with six shots (four on goal), including the lone tally in net for the Tigers.
Abigail Bath and
Raegan Kappler would add two shots of their own.
Maddie Rea made four saves on six shots by the Pirates. SU was led by Hallie Rutherford, who took three and collected an assist while Juliana Chapa and Maya Fuller netted the goals. Mary Cardone faced seven ETBU shots on goal and recorded six saves.

Both teams finished with 14 shots in total and nine on goal. SU would have five of the game's eight corner kicks.

It took four minutes for the Tigers to get the first shot of the game. Another shot would soon follow while ETBU's defense held the Pirates without a shot until the 20th minute. At the 21:14 mark, Rondon would capitalize on a pass from Mickshaw to put the Tigers up 1-0. The Pirates would try to equalize as they put up five shots with three of them saved by Rea but ETBU would keep their one-goal lead heading into the half.

When the second half began, the Pirates would put pressure on ETBU and finally breakthrough on the scoreboard at 51:36. Momentum then continued their way as they would tally a second goal twelve minutes later to lead 2-1. ETBU would have plenty of chances to equalize the game, but to no avail as the Pirates hung on for the win.
