MARSHALL, Texas - Taking care of business at home, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team swept Howard Payne University, 9-0. ETBU is 3-3 now on the year.
 
Winning all three doubles matches, ETBU would start with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles by John Herr and Tyler Howard. Andrew Deutsch and Adam Morris recorded an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles while Dalton Barron and Noah Smistad took control of No. 3 doubles 8-2.  
 
ETBU then won all six singles matches in straight sets. Morris (No. 2; 7-6 (3), 6-3) and Smistad (No. 5 singles; 6-0 (4), 6-2) had to win a tiebreaker to claim a set each. Herr took No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1 while both Howard (No. 3 singles) and Barron (No. 4 singles) each had 6-0, 6-0 wins. Matt Fuhr secured No. 6 singles 6-4, 7-5 to finish the sweep.  

ETBU will head out next weekend to San Marcos, Texas, for three matches. The first match will start at 3:00 PM on Mar. 6 against Schreiner University.
