SAN MARCOS, Texas – Unable to bounce back from a 2-1 deficit in doubles, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team came up short, 5-4, against the Schreiner University Mountaineers on Friday afternoon. ETBU is now 3-4 overall.
The team of John Herr and Joseph Salinas contributed the only doubles victory recording the 8-6 advantage at the #1 doubles spot. Andrew Deutsch and Tyler Howard fell, 8-7, in doubles #2 which became the deciding point in the match.
 
Herr also recorded a victory at the #2 singles position, coming away with the 6-2 win over Matthew Jimenez. Andrew Deutsch bounced back  at #3 singles taking down Carson Kirk in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Howard was able to carve out the final win on the men's squad at the #5 spot, knocking off Marco Gallinar, 6-2, 6-2.

ETBU will conclude the three-match trip with a contest aginst Trinity (TX) and Concordia Texas on Saturday, March 7^th.
