SAN MARCOS, Texas – Playing two strong regional opponents in one day in central Texas, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team dropped matches to #31 Trinity University and Concordia University Texas. ETBU is now 5-3 on the year.
ETBU started the day with a 9-0 loss to Trinity.
Maddi Davis had the closest match at #6 singles in a 7-5, 4-6, 1-10 loss.
Elisa Kendall fell in #1 singles, 6-4, 6-4.
In the second match of the day, ETBU fell to Concordia Texas, 6-3. They started down, 2-1, in doubles as
Ashley Schenck and
Cassidy Wilcoxson won the #2 doubles match, 8-7, over Claire Austin and Kaitlin Stevens. Kendall then won the #1 singles match, 7-5, 6-4, for the second point of the match.
Corrine Hall took the #5 singles match, 6-2, 6-4, over Alejandra Rueda. ETBU fell in #3 singles (
Kelsey Roberts), 6-3, 7-5, while Wilcoxson los tin #4 singels 6-7, 6-4, 4-6. Davis then fell in #6 singles, 1-6, 6-3, 2-6.
ETBU will be off until March 25 when the host Centenary at 3:00 p.m.
