MARSHALL, Texas – Finishing off the season at Ornelas Stadium recognizing 17 seniors, East Texas Baptist University came up short as they fell to Belhaven University, 41-7. ETBU ends their season at 5-5 and 4-5 in the American Southwest Conference.
Alek Child threw for 242 yards and one touchdown while
Kaleb O'Bryant was the top receiver with 124 yards receiving. Defensively,
Zach Pike led the team with 12 tackles and
Justice Henson followed with 11 tackles and one break up.
EJ Burgess recorded one interception. ETBU produced 258 yards of total offense with 253 yards in the air.
The first half featured ETBU's only touchdown of the game as O'Bryant went 64-yards to come within 20 points, 27-7. The catch came in the ETBU territory and then O'Bryant ran 50+ yards for the touchdown.

Burgess had the play of the second half intercepting a pass at their own nine-yard line. Belhaven took over the ball after an ETBU interception and on the ensuing play threw an interception to Burgess.
