#TIGERSWIN | @ETBU_Soccer Completes Comeback Victory Over LETU in 2 OT

MARSHALL, Texas - Thanks to an incredible save from Gunnar Barry and clutch goals by Travis Floyd and Dominic Wood, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team thrilled the crowd with a 2-1 double overtime win over LeTourneau University. ETBU is now 2-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the American Southwest Conference. Wood's golden goal came in the 107th minute to seal the victory for ETBU

ETBU would outshoot LETU, 15-8, including 8-3 shots on goal advantage. Matthew Dieb would have four shots overall to lead ETBU, including two shots on goal. Floyd would have three shots in total while Wood, Isaiah Simien, and Silas Sangano had two shots. Barry would play all 107 minutes and record two saves in goal.

Although the Tigers would get the first two shots of the game, it was LETU that found the goal first going up, 1-0, in the seventh minute. That would be one of three shots the Yellow Jackets would have in the first half as ETBU put up seven more shots. ETBU would have chances to score in the 21st, 30th, and 38th minutes while Barry would pick up a save in the 25th minute. Despite outshooting LETU, 9-3, the Tigers trailed 1-0 at halftime.

The second half would be defensive as both teams combined for five shots. Each side would also hit a post as the game stayed 1-0 for most of the half. With under five minutes to go, Floyd would equalize tying the score on the assist from Cairo. The game went into overtime tied at a goal apiece.

The first overtime would see one shot from LETU, which missed wide right of the net. In the second overtime, LETU had a chance to win it on a penalty kick but Barry would preserve the tie with a big-time save. Moments later, in the 107th minute, Wood would head in a corner kick to seal the win.

ETBU will return to Cornish Field next Saturday when they will host Belhaven University at 7:30 PM.
