CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Holding on in the final moments of the match for their sixth straight victory, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team came away with a 2-1 win over the University of Ozarks. ETBU is now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the American Southwest Conference East Division.

Of the 12 shots taken by ETBU, Amy Pineda recorded a third of the shots with four, including three on goal. Raegan Kappler and Aaliyah Casas would score the goals for the Tigers while Brianna Mickshaw had an assist. Claire Montondon would only see one shot on goal as the defense held UO to just three shot attempts.

Four minutes into the game, ETBU would get their first two shots with the second saved by the Ozarks keeper. Another five minutes would go by before Kappler netted the first goal in the ninth minute. ETBU would keep putting up shot attempts as their defense wouldn't let UO get off a shot attempt. Even with the first half dominance by ETBU, they led just 1-0 at the half.

After 57 minutes without a shot, the Eagles would get their first attempt, which went over the net. The Tigers would have several chances to extend their lead only to see their shots saved by the Eagles' goalkeeper. Eventually, in the 67th minute, Casas would break through and record her first goal of the season for a 2-0 lead. The score remained the same until the 81st minute when an ETBU foul in the penalty box led to the Eagles scoring their first goal on a penalty kick. ETBU would then thwart off any shot attempts by UO, who would have the tying goal shot miss the net in the 89th minute to preserve the 2-1 win.

ETBU will take on the University of Texas Dallas at 5:00 PM next Saturday at Cornish Field.
