ABILENE, Texas - Conceding three first half goals, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team would fall in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament 4-1 to Hardin-Simmons University. ETBU ends their season 3-6-1 overall and 3-4-0 in the ASC.
Silas Sangano and
Garrett Garvin would each have two shots in total with the latter scoring the lone goal for ETBU.
Travis Floyd and
Juan Cairo would also have a shot in the game. Gunnar Berry made two saves in goal.
It took two and a half minutes for HSU to score the first goal. They would then make it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Garvin would find the net in the 26th minute to cut the lead to 2-1. But HSU would add an insurance goal to go up 3-1 at the break. While ETBU would have four shots in the second half, none of them were unable to find the net. The Cowboys sealed their win with the fourth goal in the 68th minute.

This is the third straight season that ETBU has made the ASC Tournament which is the longest streak in program history.
